design

This design looks familliar. Looks like one of TM's templates.

Your navigation being on the bottom right is not that effective.
The eye looks at the top left of the screen first usually. It took a few seconds to realize that there is a menu on the bottom right.

The blurr rollover effect is better the other way around.. (Blurr - On mouse over ).

It's a nice clean site but like I said, I saw this on one of them TM's templates so I don't know if you came up with this design or what

review the site

Opps.. forgot to review the site.

Well I was a little lost at first. I liked the opening page. But, then as I clicked thru the buttons on top I did not see much of anything other than a couple of links and I did not scroll down on those pages.

Once I did I saw the links to the templates. Might want to make the main pages more informative.

I really like the way you have "Add templates to your Favorites" your placing each template they like in their browser. That's thinking outside the room without a box!

Site has true potential. Good Job Indeed!

website

I was at this website shortly after the link was first posted, within hours I believe. The visit was completely uneventful and my work computer is quite well protected and would have screamed like a banshee had it encountered bogus code. I viewed a number of his pages and followed outbound links to other of spore's sites. I was actually somewhat impressed.

This, coupled with reading his resume and brief viewings of former and current projects of his gives me a very high degree of confidence that he's on the level. This individual has worked in various capacities in the IT industry and while almost certainly capable of coding malicious content it is doubtful, at least to me, that this was intentional on his part.

sp2

I know I owe everyone an apology. There was a virus outbreak, our server's DNS resolver was hijacked and several domains got redirected to spyware sites. It was rediculous and out of control for a while, as a matter of fact, my own PC was badly infected and I'm about to format my harddrive and get my OS upgraded to SP2.

Some of you have seen my posts in this community, you know I'm not here to stir commotions. But if you have to hate me, all I can say is I'm sorry.

According to my server admin, the site is clean now. But I leave it to you to decide. I have even edited my signature until things are absolutely stabilised.

startlogic

I use startlogic now. They're kind of new but I'm fairly impressed so far. 40 gigs of bandwidth per month for 7.50. Speed is okay. Not the best but then I'm not paying for the best. Downtime has been non-existant. I forget how much html web site template they offer. You'll never use that much though. I mean I doubt you will anyway. Indeo knows some cheap hosting that he's happy with. I don't recall the numbers but I don't think they were too bad at all.

Picking a webhost is a "buyer beware" endeavor. In most cases you won't know you've got a bad one until you've already given them your money. Send them a few emails and see how quickly they respond. Ask them some tech questions if you know how to and determine whether their answers are good or not. Cheap html web site template are a dime a dozen these days and picking a reliable one can be confusing. Don't rely on "hosting review" sites for accurate data. They're affiliate sites trying to get you to sign up through them and make a buck - or a hundred bucks. Hosting commissions have gotten pretty lucrative so be wary of anyone who says "this one is the best".

If you're looking for windows hosting, I used milleniuum systems (nextmill) for 2 years because I like ASP and I can tell you unequivocally that they're fast as lightning. A little pricey but super quick. It's a pretty good jump from *nix to win so not recommended for the faint of heart.

I went with ipowerweb for a while because I liked their bandwidth allowance. Unresponsive, incompetent tech support and their failure to correct major CGI issues caused me to leave before my year was even up though. They have a toll free support number but hold times are an hour or longer. Who needs that?

ehostpros, which someone mentioned on another thread. Don't expect any speed from them. I put a client on them about a year ago because they were wanting cost efficiency and for 3 months all I heard was complaints. This was a lightweight html web site template, all images optimized, no scripting other then what was necessary. They're cheap but I won't use them again. You get what you pay for I guess.

I use ivaluehost for my reseller acount and have been happy with them so far. There's been no downtime that I'm aware of at all in the past 7 months and since I have all my template and customer sites there this is important to me. I'm not plugging them. I'm not plugging anyone I've mentioned in this narrative. This thread is titled cheap hosting and these are my experiences with same.

about golive templates

It might be interesting to be able to put the golive templates on the affiliate sites. I think it must be possible with the affiliate code integrated in the online chat code. So it is easier for the customers
to have contact and feedback directly from TM. This way the affiliates
can give better support or sell more golive templates, and it might help to give more customers that little push they need to sell templates from TM.
It is just a suggestion. I don't know what other affiliates think

Thank you everyone

Thank you everyone for your comments, I just finished giving the site a new facelift... as you will see, I went in a complete new direction designwise... So, once again please check it out... and comment on it...

Also, if you haven't, visit web design template or look for the topic within the forum...

Thanx

design new web site

The design looks good overall. One suggestion I have is to have some sort of breaker below the top-right navigation and bottom right navigation. Right now, there's the background graphic, then it just stops and there's white. Maybe make web design template fade out or put a line in there or something
